Having not won so much as an egg and spoon race when I was 6, winning is something that I have little experience of. Not that I am all that fussed, not being a remotely competitive person. Probably helped along by the aforementioned lack of winning.
But. That said, winning is a glorious feeling. Especially at the hands of Gem over at the brilliant Bake Do and Mend.
Unfortunately, as lovely as this cup and saucer set is, I am not the kind of woman who likes small measures. Especially when it comes to tea. I am a heathen when it comes to a cup of Rosie. I like a big mug that warms the hands and comes without the faff and fuss of a tea pot. Like I said, heathen. Dainty I am not. So, I had to come up with an alternative use for this delightful set. Forgive me.
A quick replace of tea with tea light
This means that it is out on display and people can say "Oooh! What a lovely cup you have!" And I can say "Why, yes. Yes I do!" .The saucers are being used as plant stands. Practical and pretty. And as for the makeup bits - they have been duly added to my overflowing war paint bag.
So - thank you to Gorgeous Gem. If you have not checked out her blog - please do. It brightens the blog dashboard.
Over and Out.
Congratulations! I like big mugs for coffee (Americano with a double or triple shot), and dainty cups for tea (but only if someone else faffs with the pot and cleans it out- day-to-day it's my Brownie Guides mug circa 1984, or my Japanese style beaker for herbal).
ReplyDeleteThat's such a good idea...and such a pretty cup!
ReplyDeletecongrats! I like tea by the mugfuls as well. Great little tealight!
ReplyDeleteOoh lovely, well done! I like mugs too as cups don't hold enough, however Mr D and I have no started using a brown betty teapot, which means we can use cups and keep refilling them. I feel ever so elegant and get plenty of tea, so it is wins all round x
