Burgandy & Brown outfit post

Having written the title  -  I realise that it must sound like a post about a strange cocktail involving wine and ale. Which, I am sure you will agree, would be vile. I am hoping you shan't think the same of my outfit.

Bolero, shirt, shoes -  high street. Skirt - charity scrum for £4

I must confess to loving this outfit. II think it is suitably 40's-esqe and tres comfortable. There are some clothing combinations that make me feel like a lady. A dress usually instantly does the trick, but I do like to be able to throw an outfit together. I had a lot of work chums saying to me "Ooh -  you are so co-ordinated!". Which means I went the same colour as my top and mumbled "thanks". I am able to co-ordinate because I own too many clothes.

I need to step away from the charity shop door.

But.... they could have something wonderful in there......

...one quick look can't hurt...

....can it?

  1. I'm very envious of your charity shops then, if this is the kind of outfit you can pull together from your visits to them, it's fab. The charity shops here are rubbish!

  2. Ha ha. I am co-ordinated because I own too many clothes too. Also I always go for black and grey (apart from c-raazy colour in summer). Love the brown combo, it looks very businesslike and yet feminine (like an intrepid and feisty woman reporter in a 40s movie, that kinda look).

  3. Looks lovely! I can't not colour co-ordinate, I don't understand, I saw someone wearing a plaid suit with an entirely uncordinating bag either colour or pattern wise, I just can't do that! Maybe it's cos I've been wearing vintage stuff for over 20 years and mismatching just never used to happen!

  7. I like brown, rusts, and burgundy- so thumbs up to your outfit…..oh and there is nothing wrong with being co-ordinated- to me it shows that a person has put an effort into their appearance. TTFN Tups x

  12. I love a good brown or burgundy item! So, good colour choices! This outfit is rather dashing! And yes, I agree with the thought process before a quick rummage...I yesterday told Mr Mike that I 'needed' to pop into the charity shops in our area...he laughed at the fact I said I needed to. But I told him, there might be something rather lovely I dont want to miss...it's worth a wee look right? Haha!
